Georgia Tech, backed by Atlanta super angel investor Imlay Investments, will launch a venture aimed at attracting — and holding onto — tech entrepreneurial talent to the region.

The four-month “accelerator” program, held twice a year, would invest up to $25,000 in each of the 12 to 20 startups and help them develop into a “fundable” businesses, according to a source familiar with the plans.

The program, to be announced at the ATDC Startup Showcase today, hopes to lure promising technology, medical device and biotech startups to metro Atlanta.
